Narampak vs Kadapak Sandesh: Which Should You Choose?
A practical guide to soft and firm Sandesh, Ganguram’s Kolkata piece packs and 400g Kadapak boxes, plus what to check before ordering.

The most useful question when choosing Sandesh is not simply which flavour to buy. It is how you like the sweet to feel: soft and delicate, or firmer with a more defined bite. At Ganguram, these preparations are called Narampak and Kadapak.
Here is how those terms apply to our current range. Kolkata-only fresh Sandesh is Narampak by default unless a different preparation is requested before production. Our 400g Sandesh packs are Kadapak. Tin Sandesh is a separate canned product: follow the shelf life and storage instructions printed on its tin.
Narampak and Kadapak at a glance
| What to compare | Narampak | Kadapak |
|---|---|---|
| Texture | Softer, more delicate bite | Firmer bite |
| Our usual format | Kolkata-only fresh Sandesh | All 400g Sandesh packs |
| Best starting point | Local orders to enjoy soon | A measured pack for sharing or serviceable delivery routes |
Texture is a preparation choice, not a flavour. Nolen gur, saffron and fruit-flavoured Sandesh can each have their own flavour character, while the Narampak or Kadapak preparation determines the bite. Check the individual product page for its ingredients, format and delivery eligibility.
Choose for the recipient’s address
For a local order, browse the Sandesh collection with your delivery PIN selected. If you want Kadapak instead of the usual Narampak preparation for a local item, contact us before preparation; do not assume a checkout note alone confirms the request.
For a recipient outside our local delivery area, start with Sandesh gifts for delivery across India. These are selected 400g Kadapak packs. PAN India eligibility still depends on the product and serviceability at the address; it does not mean every sweet can travel to every PIN.
For example, Kesar Sandesh (400g) is a saffron-flavoured Kadapak option. If you prefer a filled sweet, compare it with Nolen Gurer Jalbhara Sandesh (400g).
Freshness starts with the preparation date
Our stated room-temperature shelf lives are 2 days for Narampak and 4 days for Kadapak, counted from preparation or manufacture, not from arrival. The longer winter guidance in our product information depends on seasonal conditions; it is not a reason to extend the date printed on your pack.
Transit time uses part of that shelf life. Read the preparation date, use-by date and storage instructions on receipt, and refrigerate as directed. Refrigeration does not restart the clock. If dates are missing, the pack arrives damaged or you are unsure about its condition, contact customer care before serving it.
Common questions
Does a 400g pack contain the same number of pieces in every flavour?
No. The stated net weight is 400g, while piece counts can differ by shape and product. Use the count on the individual listing rather than treating 400g as a fixed number of sweets.
Is Kadapak the same as a dry-fruit sweet?
No. Kadapak describes the Sandesh preparation. It does not mean the sweet is made from dry fruits or is free from milk.
Can I choose a different preparation?
For local fresh Sandesh, ask us before preparation at support@ganguram.com or +91 90730 96322. Availability must be confirmed by the team.
Choose your texture, then your flavour.
