Ganguram Nolen Gurer Jalbhara Sandesh with its moulded front and pistachio garnish

A Jalbhara is a sweet with a surprise inside. Ganguram’s Nolen Gurer Jalbhara Sandesh pairs a chhena shell with liquid date-palm jaggery. The first bite brings the milky sweetness of Sandesh together with the deeper, caramel-like character of nolen gur.

If you are ordering Jalbhara for the first time, start with three choices: flavour, preparation and pack. They answer different questions, and getting all three right makes the gift or dessert easier to plan.

What is inside Nolen Gurer Jalbhara?

The Nolen Gurer version has a liquid date-palm jaggery centre enclosed by Sandesh. It is the contrast that makes this sweet distinctive: a shaped chhena exterior followed by a flowing filling. “Nolen Gurer” identifies the jaggery flavour; “Sandesh” identifies the sweet itself.

Choose Nolen Gurer Jalbhara Sandesh in a piece pack for serviceable Kolkata delivery, or look at the separate 400g Kadapak listing for eligible delivery across India. Those listings have different preparations and delivery rules even though they share the flavour name.

Choose classic, chocolate or a fruit flavour

Start with nolen gur if you want the date-palm jaggery character described above. Chocolate offers another direction, while the fruit-flavoured options bring a different flavour profile to the Sandesh range. Browse the current Jalbhara collection to see which flavours and formats are available for your PIN.

Our 2-in-1 options combine classic and flavoured Sandesh in one sweet. For instance, the 2-in-1 Chocolate Jalbhara 400g pack combines the classic and chocolate styles. Read each listing for its specific flavour and ingredients; do not assume that every flavoured Jalbhara has the same filling or garnish.

5 pieces, 10 pieces or 400g?

How to choose your Jalbhara format
Format Preparation Delivery
5-piece pack Narampak by default Serviceable Kolkata area
10-piece pack Narampak by default Serviceable Kolkata area
400g pack Kadapak Eligible PINs according to the product listing

A piece pack gives you a specified number of sweets; a 400g pack gives you a specified net weight. Piece counts in 400g packs vary by product. For a shared dessert, decide how many people you are serving and how many pieces you want per person, then check the individual listing.

Narampak is softer and Kadapak is firmer. Read our Narampak and Kadapak comparison if you are choosing between a local piece pack and a 400g box. A different preparation for a local order needs confirmation before the sweets are made.

Plan for the moment the box is opened

Serve Jalbhara on a small plate so the filling stays with the sweet. Keep the rest of the box stored according to its label, taking out only the portions you intend to serve. If it is a gift, share the storage instructions and preparation/use-by dates with the recipient.

Freshness is measured from preparation, and transit time counts. The room-temperature guidance is 2 days for Narampak and 4 days for Kadapak; always follow the dates and conditions on the actual pack. A 400g box is not a shelf-stable tin, and it should not be treated as one.

Check milk, nut and other allergen information on the exact product before buying for another person. For larger celebrations or questions about an ingredient, contact the Ganguram team rather than assuming from the image.
